Where We Are:
The Western District of the United Pentecostal Church, International consists of the central and northern areas of the states of California and Nevada. Extending from the “grapevine” mountain regions in the south, all the way to the Oregon border in the north, the Western District is one of the largest in the UPCI.
Within its boundaries are some of the most scenic locations in the world. From the beautiful Pacific coast to the dry desert country, from the rich agricultural valley to the giant redwood forests, the Western District is the area where God created some of His most beautiful handiwork.
Our District is also home to millions of people with many types of cultures and backgrounds. We include the “high-tech” silicone valley in the San Francisco Bay area, two state capitols, seemingly endless farming communities, and the historic snow-capped mountain regions of the “Motherlode” from the gold rush days.
Who We Are:
The Western District is made up of nine sections with over 150 churches and many other branch works. On any given Sunday, you will feel welcome to worship God with friendly people in a friendly atmosphere. Be our guest and enjoy anointed singing and Bible preaching. Throughout the year, the Western District comes together for great events such as “Youth Convention”, “Ladies Conference” and “Camp Meeting.” Please check the Calendar for information about these and other department activities that are available.
Why We Exist:
Our mission is to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel, “good news”, of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to proclaim “the whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church.” We attempt to do this through the individual local church as well as the many departments of our district and the unique programs they offer.
What We Believe:
We believe in the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism by water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We shall endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit until we all come into the unity of the faith, at the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall not contend for their different views to the disunity of the body.
